man this one is cool. is that a suspensor censer. so many awesome details. this image really pulls me in. the gown is so strange and wonderful. may i ask did you use a model for this piece? anyway thanks for another free lesson. george ps is there a significance to the color palate here, just seems to add so much otherworldly atmosphere.
You know your Dune. Color-wise I picture Irulan as this golden beauty...a woman bred to be the perfect companion and mate for royalty. In a way, she has to be everything Chani is not, and yet completely desirable. The perfect woman in a gilded cage. So, there's your yellow.
i thought so. no one ever has much to say about irulan, she's always been a favorite of mine. i love the quotes from her writings in the books, sort of a sidelong glance into the gravity mr. herbert gave her. even her name sounds regal. this portrait you've done really captures all the sophistication, self sacrifice and grace. she has in my minds eye. i'd love to know if you used a model or if you were just carrying that face in your head. i don't mean to gush but this one really is super cool. thanks man. g
I always felt bad for Irulan. Paul made it clear from the start of their marriage that he never intended to give her love, or even one kind word. Yet he gave her no option but to marry him. Essentially, he used her for to achieve his goals and completely sacrificed her happiness in the process.
